Color of the year – Peach Fuzz and Indian skin tone.

Everyone ended 2023 on a cheerful note; Some started 2024 with a beautiful quote. It’s time to leave behind our festive clothes, ugly Christmas sweaters, and many red and green blouses. If you still smell those holiday cookies and sweets baked by your family, you are not in 2024 yet!!!

There are many things to focus on this upcoming year, and Colordiaries wants to begin the year with the color of the year blog. Pantone is an American company that announces the color of the year. The apparel, home, and accessory industry brings that to the general lifestyle. They describe the color as an important element that connects human emotions and desires and encourages deeper connections. Luxury brands Prada and Dior have already started collaborating on it in their latest spring 24 collections.

So, here it goes; the annual color 2024 is “Peach Fuzz.” Pantone’s executive director, Leatrice Eiseman, describes it as ” A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless.”. You can search for it with “PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz”.

My views on the color

I love the word; it feels refreshing, velvety, and trustworthy. I would use it for a blush or a dress, but I don’t think any accessories will suit mine or many more Indian skin tones. We might buy it because we saw some white or fairish person wearing it, but will it compliment us? We tend to bend towards brighter shades like pink, Blue, Yellow, and Orange.

After reviewing celebrity street styles and various fashion weeks, I saw few celebrities wore them in the past. They never nailed the color or made a statement with it. Alia Bhatt wore it as a single-color gown for the award show, and Kareena also wore it for some events. I have also seen a few wedding outfits with the peach fuzz color and many pastel shades. Still there is 1 out of 100 brides will wear the Peach color for the wedding. Do you remember Athiya Shetty’s wedding outfit?

The color awakens our senses and makes us feel, touch, and understand the item’s texture, which has mixed reviews. Add it to just one of your accessories, or maybe trousers??

To conclude, I believe Indian people will wear what they want to wear rather than looking at any forecast. If they like red, they will wear red no matter what. What do you think??
